Steve Hobden

Training Manager / Chief Instructor

Steve Hobden, joined Ambrey as an MSO in 2012 and worked his way through the Ambrey Risk promotion model to senior Team Leader and Training Manager. He served 24 years in the Armed forces serving with The Parachute Regiment. Steve has had the benefit of a good grounding in security matters from his time in the military where he also gained valuable commercial experience working and managing defense projects overseas with DERA. Has planned, designed and conducted STTTs overseas for CP and Coin Ops. Has been in the commercial security arena for the past 6 years working in East/West Africa and as an operator in the HRA on armed transits for various PMSC's and conducted training packages in the USA, Nepal, Ethiopia, Poland, Greece and the UK. 

Charles Swanson MSc CSyP FSyI


Charlie joined Ambrey as the lead Ship Security Officer and Security Management Survey Instructor in 2012. He served 22 years in the British Army with the Royal Military Police, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class One. Charlie has specialised in maritime security for over 10 years and has carried out over 40 Port Facility Security Assessments and over 10 Ship Security Assessments in the UK, Europe and Middle East.

Daniela Sharp

Personnel and Training Co-ordinator

Daniela has previously worked as a translator for KFOR, Hertz and several other commercial translating companies across Europe.  When she moved to the UK she worked in an administrative capacity for Hertz and has now been with Ambrey Training and Recruitment for over 4 years responsible for the administration and logistics.

Mark Gorman

Chief Medical Instructor

Mark joined Ambrey in 2013 as Chief Medical Instructor.  He served 22 years with the British Army in the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment including 8 years with 23 Parachute Field Ambulance.  He is CMT1 qualified and a First Aid and FPOS(I) Instructor with an NVQ Level 3 in Operating Theatre Practice.  He also holds a City & Guilds Level 4 certificate for teaching in the lifelong learning sector (CTLLS).
